Hemodialysis

Hemodialysis (HD) is a method of extrarenal blood purification used in acute and chronic kidney failure. During hemodialysis, toxic metabolic products are removed from the body to reduce biochemical abnormalities, normalize disturbances in fluid balance, electrolyte balance, and acid-base equilibrium. The most effective method of hemodialysis is the use of an "artificial kidney" device (hereinafter referred to as AK)
