Public Environmental Oversight
Public environmental oversight - is entitled to carry out public oversight in the field of environmental protection (public environmental oversight) as environmental inspectors and provide assistance to the federal executive body authorized by the Government of the Russian Federation to perform federal state environmental monitoring (supervision), and to the bodies of state authority of the subjects of the Russian Federations carrying out regional state environmental control (supervision)1.

Public ecological oversight is carried out by public associations and other non-profit organizations in accordance with their charters, as well as by citizens in accordance with legislation4.
