Model Year of the Vehicle
"model year" - a period of time defined by the manufacturer during which it does not make significant changes to the design of the vehicle and which may not coincide with the calendar year in terms of start, end, or duration, but cannot exceed 730 days;

MODEL YEAR - a conditional year of manufacture of the vehicle, indicated (in most cases) in the VIN. Usually, the VIN contains information not about the actual date of manufacture, but about the so-called model year. The model year in automotive manufacturing does not coincide with the calendar year and for most car manufacturers starts in July. For example, if a vehicle is actually manufactured in October 1998, then the VIN will usually indicate a model year of 1999
