Pantothenic Acid


Pantothenic acid participates in protein, fat, carbohydrate metabolism, cholesterol metabolism, synthesis of various hormones and hemoglobin, promotes absorption of amino acids and sugars in the intestine, supports adrenal cortex function. Deficiency of pantothenic acid may lead to damage of skin and mucous membranes. Average consumption in different countries is 4.3 - 6.3 mg/day. Established requirement levels in different countries are 4 - 12 mg/day. Upper acceptable intake level has not been established
