General Provisions
According to Article 68 of the Land Code of the Russian Federation, land management includes activities in accordance with studying the condition of lands, planning and organizing the rational use of lands and their protection, describing the location and (or) establishing on the ground boundaries of land management objects, organizing the rational use by citizens and legal entities of land plots for carrying out agricultural production, as well as [in accordance with](/enc/32588/ "Definition of the term «PO» in the legal
"(encyclopedias) organization of territories used by communities of indigenous small-numbered peoples of the North, Siberia, and Far East of the Russian Federation. Documents prepared as a result of cadastral work are used in the implementation of land monitoring."
Organization and the procedure for conducting land surveying
According to Article 69 of the Land Code of the Russian Federation, land management is carried out by initiative of authorized executive bodies of state authority, local self-government bodies, owners of land plots, land users, landowners or by decision of the court.
Land management is conducted compulsorily in cases provided for by this Code and federal laws.
Information on land management is open, except for information constituting a state secret, and information relating to the identity of land plot owners, land users, landowners or lessees of land plots.
Legal entities or individual entrepreneurs may conduct any types of land surveying works without special permits, unless otherwise provided by federal laws. The procedure for conducting land surveying is established by federal laws, laws and other normative legal acts of the subjects of the Russian Federation.
