Land – one of the most valuable and vital resources, the basis for the existence of human society and its socio-economic development. At the same time, land is an object of law subject to special legal regulation ensuring its rational use, protection and safeguarding of interests of citizens, society and the state. Russian land law is a branch of law regulating social relations related to ownership, use and disposal of land plots, as well as establishing the foundations of the legal regime of lands in various categories.
Modern Russian land law has been shaped by the multi-century history of the country, its natural-climatic conditions, as well as social and economic changes. The characteristics of this area of law include its complex nature: it combines elements of civil, administrative, and environmental law. This allows for regulation of a wide range of issues related to land use, ranging from farming enterprises and urban planning to the protection of specially protected natural territories.
The aim of this course – to provide readers with basic and advanced knowledge in the field of Russian land law. The online course is designed to develop an understanding of the fundamentals of land relations, characteristics of the legal regime of land plots, and application of normative legal acts in practical activities.
