Theft
1. Theft, that is, the secret appropriation of someone else's property, -
is punishable by a fine in the amount up to eighty thousand rubles or in the amount of the offender's salary or other income for a period up to six months, or compulsory work for a term up to three hundred and sixty hours, or corrective labor for a term up to one year, or restriction of freedom for a term up to two years, or compulsory labor for a term up to two years, or arrest for a term up to four months, or deprivation of liberty for a term up to two years.

2. Theft committed:
a) by a group of persons acting in concert;
b) with unlawful entry into a building or other storage facility;
c) causing significant damage to a citizen;
d) from clothing, a bag or other hand luggage located with the victim, -
is subject to a fine of up to two hundred thousand rubles or in the amount of the offender's wages or other income for a period of up to eighteen months, or compulsory work for a term of up to four hundred and eighty hours, or corrective labor for a term of up to two years, or forced labor for a term of up to five years with restriction of freedom for a term of up to one year or without such restriction, or deprivation of liberty for a term of up to five years with restriction of freedom for a term of up to one year or without such restriction.

3. Theft committed:
a) with unlawful entry into a dwelling;
b) from an oil pipeline, petroleum product pipeline, or gas pipeline;
c) in a large amount,
is subject to a fine in the amount from one hundred thousand to five hundred thousand rubles or in the amount of the defendant's wages or other income for a period from one to three years, or compulsory labor for a term up to five years with restriction of freedom for a term up to one and a half years or without such restriction, or deprivation of liberty for a term up to six years with a fine in the amount up to eighty thousand rubles or in the amount of the defendant's wages or other income for a period up to six months or without such fine and with restriction of freedom for a term up to one and a half years or without such restriction.

4. Theft committed:
a) by an organized group;
b) in especially large amounts,
shall be punished by deprivation of liberty for a term of up to ten years with a fine in the amount of up to one million rubles or in the amount of the convicted person's wages or other income for a period of up to five years, or without such a fine, and with restriction of freedom for a term of up to two years, or without such a restriction.

Notes. 1. Under the articles of this Code, embezzlement means unlawful, gratuitous removal and (or) appropriation of someone else's property in favor of the offender or other persons, causing damage to the owner or another holder of such property, committed with a profit-seeking intent.
2. Significant damage to a citizen under the articles of this chapter is determined taking into account his financial situation, but cannot be less than two thousand five hundred rubles
