Forced or compulsory labour


3. The term "forced or compulsory labour" in this article does not cover:
a) any work that is usually required to be performed during detention carried out in accordance with the provisions of Article 5 of this Convention, or during a period of conditional release from such detention;
b) any military service, and with regard to Contracting States in which the renunciation by persons of such service for political or religious-ethical reasons is recognized, service required to be performed instead of compulsory military service;
c) any service that is compulsory in cases
c) any work or service falling within ordinary civil duties;
d) performance by parents of their obligations to provide necessary conditions for children, and by adult children of their obligation to support non-working, needy parents.
