Machine


e) "machine" - a series of interconnected parts or components, at least one of which moves by means of appropriate drives, control chains, energy sources, combined together for a specific application (processing, processing, moving or packaging of material);

Machine: a device that uses mechanical energy or converts energy of other types into mechanical energy.

Notes:

1. A machine is a mechanical system specifically designed to perform a specific task (for example, shaping material or transmitting and converting motion, force or energy).

2. Directive 98/37/EC defines the term "machines and mechanisms" as:

- a node consisting of interrelated parts or components, at least one of which moves, with corresponding power drives, control and power circuits, etc., combined for a specific application (in particular, for processing, handling, moving or packaging material);

- a set of machines that are assembled and controlled in such a way to achieve an objective so that they function as a single unit;

- interchangeable equipment modifying the operation of a machine and supplied to the market for inclusion into a machine or series of machines (this equipment is not a spare part or tool)
