Engine

ENGINE - an energy machine converting any type of energy into mechanical work. Engines are divided into primary and secondary. Primary engines (hydro-turbines, internal combustion engines, etc.) directly convert the energy of natural resources (water, nuclear fuel, etc.) into mechanical energy. Secondary engines (e.g., electric) receive energy from primary sources, converters and energy storage systems (e.g., solar panels, spring mechanisms, etc.).
