Aviation incident


1.2.2.1. Aviation incident - an event related to the use of an aircraft, which occurs from the moment any person boards the aircraft with the intention of flying, until the moment when all persons who were on board for the purpose of flying have left the aircraft, and during which:

a) any person sustains a bodily injury resulting in death as a result of being aboard the aircraft, excluding cases where the injuries are caused by natural causes, self-inflicted, or inflicted by others, or when the injuries are sustained by unauthorized passengers hiding outside areas usually accessible to passengers and crew members;

Note. For the purpose of uniformity in statistical data, a bodily injury resulting in death within 30 days from the incident is classified as a fatal injury.

b) the aircraft sustains damage or its structure is destroyed as a result of which:

- the structural strength is compromised, technical or flight characteristics of the aircraft are deteriorated;

- major repairs or replacement of the damaged part are required, except in cases where: there is failure or damage to an engine, when only the engine itself, its cowling or auxiliary units are damaged, or only propellers, non-power elements of the fuselage, fairings, wingtips, antennas, pneumatics, braking systems or other components are damaged, provided that these damages do not affect the overall structural strength, or there are minor dents or punctures in the skin; damage to lifting and control propellers, bushings of lifting or control propellers, transmission, damage to fan units or gearboxes, if such cases have not resulted in damage or destruction of the fuselage (beam) load-bearing elements; damage to the fuselage (beam) skin without damage to the load-bearing elements;

c) the aircraft is lost or located in a place where access to it is absolutely impossible
